Google Calendar Application

  • What have I learned about the Google calendar? I have learned how to create and maintain a single Google calendar, and then how to make several individual Google calendars work together. I have learned how to change the colors of my calendars, how to add flair (calendar emoticons) to my calendars, and how to add standard calendars (holidays, weather, etc.). I have also learned how to embed my Google calendar into a web page using an iframe.

  • What do I like/dislike about the Google calendar? I think the Google calendar is easy to use and works great in my web pages, as it automatically updates as I make changes without having to re-embed it into the page itself. I am yet to find anything that I dislike about the Google calendar.

  • What other calendars do I use and which do I like better? The only other calendar I use is the one on my cell phone and since I started using my data package I have been using my Google calendar more than the one on my phone, because my phone doesn't give me the option to individualize different calendars and then have the option to view them together or separately.

My iGoogle

  • What is iGoogle? iGoogle is your own personal Google homepage that can be personalized with "gadgets" that interests you and a theme t0 decorate it.

  • What's on my iGoogle page? I have the date and time, my calendar, my "To Do List", my Gmail, Google Docs forms, coupons, Totally Free Crap, Twilight Quotes, Web Designer Depot, You Tube, My New Room, my local weather, my horoscope, Comedy Central jokes, and Celebs by Access Hollywood. All of these things are on my page because I either need to know the information or want to know the information.

  • What do I like about iGoogle? I like the ability to view all the information I need or want on one page.

  • What do I dislike about iGoogle? I haven't been using iGoogle for very long, so the only thing that I have found to dislike is how difficult it can be to drag my gadgets to the place I want them on my page.

My Gmail

  • What have I learned about Gmail? I have learned about all the many ways that I can customize my Gmail account, especially being able to run Gmail and iGoogle together.

  • What other email accounts do I have and how are they different from Gmail? I have Hotmail and my school email account. Hotmail is very similar to Gmail. It can be customized to a certain extent and the MSN page can be run together with Hotmail, but it doesn't offer as many applications and options as Gmail and iGoogle. My school email account is very basic and doesn't offer any customization options or applications.

  • Which email account do I prefer? I prefer Gmail, hands down. Aside from all of the options and applications Gmail offers, it is also the more user friendly choice.
